Blagojevich, political corruption and health care reform

(NaturalNews) Thanks to a lone, holdout juror, former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich narrowly escaped being found guilty of trying to sell a U.S. Senate seat. He was found guilty on only one charge: Lying. Stop the presses! A politician lied? Say it ain’t so… If that crime were widely prosecuted, there would hardly be a Congressman or Senator left standing in Washington. Not to excuse Blagojevich’s behavior — he was apparently a two-faced political sellout — but who in Washington hasn’t lied? As Ross Perot will tell you, nobody ever got elected telling the voters the truth they don’t want to hear. Especially when it involves the national debt — a topic that’s still off limits during virtually every political campaign. Lying is a matter of course for “successful” politicians, from the day their campaign begins to their last day in office (and often, even continuing far after…) But let’s get to the more serious criminal charge here: That Blagojevich allegedly attempted …

Sen. Harry Reid key player in Big Pharma’s control over Washington
August 12, 2010 by Jose Luis Flores

(NaturalNews) Corruption in Washington is nothing new. Lobbyists for special interests have been padding the pockets of amoral politicians for longer than most of us have been alive, and they’ve been doing so with the help of a controlled media that rarely presents the facts without shrouding them in terms of “left” or “right” in order to confuse people. But as you’ll see in this story, the corruption goes far deeper than most people realize, and a perfect example of this is the dishonorable legacy of Nevada Senator and U.S. Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid. Reid was recently exposed for accepting large sums of money from Big Pharma in order to craft and guide the recently-passed health care bill in Big Pharma’s favor. Reid’s political career dates back to the 1960s. He’s been a member of Congress since 1982, and a Nevada Senator since 1986. And since the early days of his career, Reid has been accepting contributions …
Google calls for end to internet censorship

(NaturalNews) Testifying before a Congressional panel, Google’s director of public policy, Alan Davidson, called for firm action to end censorship of the Internet. “The growing problem for Internet censorship is not isolated to one country or one region,” Davidson said before the Congressional-Executive Commission on China. “No single company and no single industry can tackle Internet censorship on its own.” Google recently shut down its Chinese web search service and began directing users in China to its Hong Kong page instead. The decision was sparked by repeated hacker attacks on Google’s servers over the past year, most of them targeting the email accounts of human rights activists. Although the Chinese government has denied involvement in the attacks, Google said that the incident had highlighted the wider problem of Internet censorship in China. The Hong Kong site has since been the target of “intermittent” censorship, Davidson said. Several days after Google’s announcement, the Internet company Go Daddy stated that …
